So Much to do and SO LITTLE TIME

Friday, April 18. 2008

Well, after about a month or so, Kevin Johnson, N5WTS finally remembered his password. Once that hurdle was accomplished, he was able to reset my password. Image, using password as a password.

On the 22 of April we have an event out at Park Lane Elementary School. Beginning about 8am we are going to set up for the 3rd, 4th and 5th graders and show them some Amateur Radio fun.

Be listening for these young voices.

Paul

Fall Classes Start this Weekend

Wednesday, September 6. 2006

The Lawton Ft-Sill Amateur Radio Club will be hosting classes for your Technician Class Licence. The classes start this Saturday, at 9 AM to Noon, at the Great Plains Technology Center, Room 315.

There is no charge for the class, but you need to have the textbook, which runs around $25.

This material is presented for people of all ages. Some of the content is technical in nature, and it is required that the student be able to read, write, multiply, and divide. Everything else will be explained by the instructors.

Field Day upcoming

Saturday, June 17. 2006

Sunday the 18th of June begins Amateur Radio week in Oklahoma as proclaimed by our Governer. To culminate the week of festivities is the annual Field Day. Our field day location has been improved. We will have 220 power to run the air conditioners. And no more blowing circuits by overloading them.

Everyone is welcome to come out and enjoy the day. I plan to come out and grill at 4 PM. I will have hamburgers and brauts ready at 4:30 to 5:00. I will have chips and potato salad too. You are welcome to bring your own side dish. I will also have a variety of coca-cola soda products.

We will have several stations set up. The press may even show up this year. Channel 7 did last year, but they didn't air anything. So come on out, and bring your portable station. We have room in the trailer for 3 stations, and plenty of room outside under the trees.

Like last year, we are on Lawton High's school grounds, off of 11th street (Ft Sill Blvd), between the high school and the middle school. The public is welcome, and we will have demonstration stations set up.

Christmas Party at Crocketts

Thursday, January 5. 2006

This year, we moved the Christmas Party to January. Falling on the 12th day of Christmas, we will celebrate with a fine BBQ dinner. Don't come expecting a handout, you must pay for your own meal--unless you bring a date and make them pay! Hope to see you there. We will try to play morse code bingo again with lots of prizes.

Chickasha Repeater Update

Thursday, September 15. 2005

We have received initial coordination of the, soon to be, Chickasha repeater. It will be on 145.230 (-) with a PL tone of 141.3 Hz. It is planned to order the repeater and ancillary equipment next week and shortly thereafter install it on the Chickasha site for operation. Contact us if you need help setting up your radio to use tones.
